How successful have ISF been?

The IS Foundation isn’t as well known as other environmental pressure groups from around the world but the foundation is in its early days. Even though, The Foundation is only a year old, there has been success in promoting the cause and making people aware of the issues ISF stand for.

Who do ISF target?

The IS Foundation target every person who are willing to help to increase the awareness of the foundation and the issues the foundation stand for. The IS Foundation promote the awareness of their issues in different ways such as: Advertisements, College Newsletters and Ian Somerhalder’s Blog for The Huffington Post. Also In 2011, Ian personally went to a conference in Washington DC to testify his views on Capitol Hill about the importance of funding global conservation efforts.

What are the issues that the ISF are concerned with?

The issues the IS Foundation focus on:

• Distributing funds and resources towards global conservation, green energy development/deployment and educational tools.
• Creating awareness that global deforestation can be seen as a national/international and global security risk.
• Creating mobility by engaging and supporting of the most powerful, yet disregarded, disrespected and overlooked population on the planet - our youth.
• Ending animal cruelty and promoting programs such as: “species specific sterilization drugs”, transferring and re-training of abandoned animals into assistive and therapy guides.
• Supporting and creating sustainable strategies for “no-kill shelters”.

The Founder

The founder of ISF is an American actor called Ian Somerhalder. He has starred in different movies and TV programmes such as; LOST and The Vampire Diaries. Ian has always had a passion for the protection of Planet Earth and the creatures that live on Planet Earth.

The Ian Somerhalder Foundation is a cause pressure group as they aim to make people aware of the environmental issues around the planet.
